My name is Cobus Maartens and this is the first website I have made. This is my 'CV' of sites if u like. I have encorporated a site for my parents as well, for their home-business is wooden toys which they sell on craft markets.
I grew up in the good old Transvaal (alias...Gauteng) where we moved from when I was seven years old. Dont worry...I do support the Stormers. From there on we lived in the Western Cape (Kuils River) for ever and ever. I went to De Kuilen High (our local high school) to complete my school career and move on. I wanted to join the army, but instead ended up studying directly after school...
I studied at Peninsula Technikon for the period of three years after my high school career. After the three years at Pentech I obtained a diploma in dental technology. This qualification means I can do various of work involving the construction of dental prosthesis. Furhter on it means I am qualified to go and work for a Dental Technician, and Technician only. Unfortenately the work oppertunities in that field is very limited in South Africa. I know I am not supposed to meassure these things to money, but the money is not very good in that direction. Taking in consideration that I am not qualified to work on my own as a laboratory owner. Working as an assistent in a dental lobatory means working for only a few bucks for a long time before getting a rise. I prefer knowing that the possibilities of my career is one of: start at the bottom and working my way to a level I am satisfied in a not soooo long period of time.
I am also very happy to report that the career in web-site development is one which gives me much more stimulation, satisfaction and enjoyment than that of anything I have done before...professionally speaking...of course.
After my studies I embarked on a journey for two years to the UK where I worked mainly on the country (which I enjoyed very much)for the duration of my two year working-holiday permit. I did do some dental technician work for approx. four months also.
I have included reports and diplomas received from my high school and technikon on completion of the courses.
